I have loved art all my life, but as an adult, life, college, work, family and designing and building two homes left me no time to enjoy art other than photography. During a summer vacation in Cedar Key FL – I visited an art shop, and was inspired. My husband encouraged me.
He told me that I had talent and could paint better than any of the ones on the wall. So, I took him up on his offer, and researched type of paint and paper to use, joined a bunch of art groups on Facebook.
My first painting was a sunflower – everyone loved it. A old friend asked me if I could paint a dog portrait for her mother. I did – and it came out well. 
At that moment – things took off I was getting requests to paint animal portraits each week. Then I added a fan page and donated a painting to a dog group – weekly contest.
I am averaging selling two animal portraits per week, and have a fan page on Facebook. I am thrilled. My initial goal was to practice for the next 15 yrs and have a business for retirement, but why wait for tomorrow what you can do today!
