Featured Artist Spring Flowerchild

What are your goals?
I have big dreams for my art. I want to touch people. To influence people. Whatever gets my art in front of a lot of people and gives me the opportunity to create bigger and experiment with different materials; that’s what I want.
Some of my short-term goals are to have a solo exhibition, be awarded a grant and sell a piece for over $1,000. Long-term, I’d like to exhibit outside of the country, be awarded a residency and publish a book of art and poetry.
What are you working on right now?

Right now, I’m working in multi-media on a series about solitary walks. Those quiet moments we have to ourselves to think and reflect on life, come up with ideas and solutions or even to worry about the future or regret the past. I represent these moments in walks because these are usually the small increments of time I have to myself.
What inspires you?

People. I am very interested in what people think about and how they feel and how outside events effect us internally. How do things change us and how great the human capacity is to grow and develop and become. We are truly extraordinary!
