Indian War Pony

My inspiration? I am a nature lover, an animal lover, and I am passionate about color and how color conveys emotion, thoughts, memories, and mood. Combine all these elements while I am painting and I get excited about painting every time I pick up my brushes. A new canvas is the start of a brand new journey.

Koi and Lilypads

Working on now? I am working on several commissioned oil paintings at the moment. One is a Cello Abstract and will also be featured on a new music CD cover as the art depicting beautiful cello music.

Violin

Also, a new commissioned painting I am beginning, is for the Sarasota Polo Club in Florida. The very large painting will depict one of my most favorite subjects, horses in action. I will bring the excitement and emotion of the polo horse to the focus of the painting. This painting will be the cover of the book published by Sarasota Polo Club and will represent my work in a featured article as their Artist of the Year 2013.

On my easel this morning is a new KOI painting, commissioned by a collector who started buying my work in 2005. It is always a joy to be contacted by collectors from around the world, who desire an addition to their collective M Baldwin originals.

Deer

My goals? My immediate goals are to produce quality oil paintings that move the viewer or collector to an emotional level, that inspires them to enjoy each day, and to express my love of our natural beauty found in our lives. I am passionate about art and oil painting and that goal keeps me going each day, to paint each day, and to enjoy life.

  4. Marcia, your work is to say the very least, wonderful! I was just featured yesterday on ArtsyShark and am starting to look at yours. Color is the most important component of painting, I think, because without it, you just have the white of the Canvas. Beautiful work, and what a great reward for you. Mary Grden

I’m doing a school art project on you and I would like to know: When did you start selling your artwork?

  6. April Bird says

Hi, I am also doing a project based on your artwork at college, your flower pieces have been a huge inspiration in particular. Could you tell me what preparations you do before starting each piece? how do you decide what to base your next piece on? and do you use live observations or take photographs to copy?
    Thanks

  7. Hi, I love your work and like many other students I really want to base my artwork on you and you equine pieces. I was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions so that I don’t have to do another artist (I really don’t want to do another artist). My questions are:
Your date of birth, how old you are, what was your most successful piece.
I would be so grateful if you could give me some answers to these questions.
    Thank you 🙂

  8. Your work is awesome Marcia
Your paintings inspire me to be someone like you✨
