Call for Artists – Be a Featured Artist in 2013

By  Carolyn Edlund

Artsy Shark is looking for serious artists to submit images of their Art or Fine Craft, for publicity and promotion. Deadline is January 7th.

Featured Artist Collage

Artsy Shark is issuing a call for artists in any medium who would like to submit their work for consideration to become a featured artist. Each artist gets their own article on Artsy Shark, with an opportunity to tell their story in their own words, and present their portfolio. With the new website redesign, images of artwork will be shown 500 px wide – Big, Bold and Gorgeous!

Featured artist articles hold the “top spot” for two days, and then become part of the Featured Artist Gallery, which is permanent. Each article is emailed to thousands of subscribers, and promoted on social media. It contains a link to the artist’s website, and will list social media contacts as well, if desired.

Many times the artist’s featured page on Artsy Shark will appear on the first page of a Google search for their name. Artists should consider it an extension of their website and their web presence, and continue to promote their featured page for as long as they like – linking to it on their website press page, in a blog post, on social media, in their email signature and more.

Artists who are featured are encouraged to write content for their page which is “evergreen” so that it will be as relevant a year from now as it is today.

My inbox has been flooded with many wonderful emails as well as an invitation to exhibit. Again thank you for the opportunity to be featured . . . I had no idea what doors this would open.” Terri Allen

This is a juried submission process, with a jury fee of $10.00. After the deadline, all artists will be notified if they have been accepted. No fees or commissions are collected by Artsy Shark on resulting sales of artwork.

  1. Would love to learn about anything Artsy Shark has to offer artist of any medium as far as exposure . I have tried sites, studios, webs, shows and had a mixed bag of results so I am always open to new ideas. I feel that in this economy half the battle is like playing chess you have to be thinking ahead and being wise…in other words spread yourself around like a bad rash.
