Top 50 Art Fairs in the U.S.

Check out the results of this recent survey of the best art fairs in the country.

Des Moines Arts Festival

The votes are in and counted, and Connie Mettler of Art Fair Insiders has come out with results of her survey to find the top art fairs in the country. She didn’t ask the artists or the fair promoters for their votes.  She asked the public who attends them.

Connie says, “Who knew people loved art fairs so much? We’ve spent eight years building our online presence, sharing information about the nation’s juried fine art festivals and it was time to ask for feedback from the art collectors on the events they attend. We were thrilled with the results, not only in the number of responses but for the enthusiasm people have for attending the shows. Art fairs, undeniably are the most interesting shopping left in the country.”

For information on how to survey was set up and taken, listen to this podcast about the project.

Are you an exhibitor at any of these art fairs? What’s your take on this list?

  1. Sorry I did not have an hour to listen through the podcast for this info, but do you have the criteria for selection posted somewhere? Thanks.

  2. The criteria was not very selective at all — we pushed this survey out through our large email list of art fair patrons and asked everyone to share on all the social media and they did! Anyone could respond and we had an amazing response. Imagine nearly 2000 people filling out completely a 22 question survey!

We asked them to tell us what is “America’s Best Art Fair” — we did ask for regional choices also and requested that if they hadn’t attended shows in a particular region (West, East Coast, etc.) not to answer and they complied. It was a very respectful and enthusiastic response. People love the art festivals, all over the country.
