Incognito

“Incognito” acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 18″ x 18″

I was a very little girl when I became excited about art. It all started with the colors around me… the blue of the sky, the first robin’s egg that I saw, or rainbows on an oil slick pavement.

Up Close and Personal III

I wanted to make those colors, I would grab my crayons and become totally absorbed in what I was doing. Nobody ever told me to do my art. The colors around me still to this day provide me with a huge vocabulary to express myself.

Up Close and Personal II

“Up Close and Personal II” acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 30″ x 30″

When I paint I become exhilarated by the language of colors. The same color, depending on its intensity and placement can convey a myriad of messages. I am taken to a place in my soul that is rich with hopefulness and joy. I love sharing that with the viewer.

Visual Fiesta 1

“Visual Fiesta 1″ acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 24″ x 24”

My current body of paintings is a dance between painting and the molecular images drawn from the world of biochemistry, showcasing the basic geometric forms that are the underpinnings of life. I work with aqueous based paints and pencils of all kinds to create different rhythms and surfaces on the canvas.

Definitive Alliances

“Definitive Alliances” acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 36″ x 36″

I strive to create freedom with balance in my work. The viewer is invited into my works so they can explore the obvious mark and hidden surprises in my paintings. I love to experiment with colors and the universal shapes we see all around us, discover new relationships between them, and then translate my discoveries into my art.

Beta Fun Lemon

“Beta Fun Lemon” acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 8″ x 8″

I am intrigued that primary colors and shapes, while so familiar, also offer unique opportunities to experiment with. The abstraction of nature as well as the sciences are my sources of inspiration.

Up Close and Personal i

Artists, as well as scientists have always tried to fathom the reality beyond appearances. My hope is that every one can be connected in some way with the arts in order to strive towards more personal harmony.

Multiple Dimensions of Familiar Simplicities

“Multiple Dimensions of Familiar Simplicities” acrylic/mixed media on canvas, 36″ x 36″

My goal is to ensure that the arts can be a part of every persons life starting from childhood and into adulthood. I do this by teaching art, continually painting and sharing my ideas with those around me.
