8b00ff

“8bOOff” acrylic on canvas, 80 x 80 cm

Since I was a child, I have been attracted by the different forms of visual arts, so I started to get interested in comics and graphics.

Iron Pike

“Iron Pike” acrylic on canvas, 70 x 100 cm

The great names from illustration and painting have given me a push and an unbelievable passion to learn, to deepen techniques and travel, in metaphorical and real ways; the trip leads us into clearly realizing what links and binds human beings to each other as a sort of collective conscience.

The Funeral Party

“The Funeral Party” acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30 cm

The awareness that lies deep inside us and a sole common history lets me appreciate even more the peculiar traits of each, everyone and everything.

I started out from this concept and reached the idea of “stones” benchmarking all my present works. Stones are stones everywhere, just as human beings beyond all apparent differences.

Blu

“Blu” acrylic on canvas, 80 x 80 cm

Through the representation of “my” stones I attempt to merge quiet and dynamism, to go further inside the form and share my thoughts.

Barcode

“Barcode” acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30 cm

So the stones become the base, an important kind of texture, the material in which everything takes place: at the same time it represents the container, content and stage of our lives.

The stones, called “Daughters of Mother Earth”, incorruptible and eternal have always fascinated whole peoples and civilizations, and have special virtues and powers attributed to them.

Leggerezza

“Leggerezza”acrylic on canvas, 122 x 50 cm

Stones and rocks contain the history of the Earth, our own history … the knowledge of mankind. A knowledge that they continue to store even nowadays, through the computer silicon chip…

Dragonfly

“Dragonfly” acrylic on canvas, 60 x 90 cm

The stone in its eternity reveals to man an absolute way of being.

La Mosca Bianca

“La Mosca Bianca” acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30 cm

The way I see it is that art is a means of expression that is a full and integral part of each human being. It needs no birth and no growth. It is just simply there. This is just the same with stones: they are complete, finished, perfect and alive all by themselves. In order to represent this perfection as much as possible, I decided to avail myself from a pictorial technique that is nearly hyper-realistic.

Life

“Life” acrylic on wood, 32 x 68 cm

I usually do not paint out of rush and sudden instincts. I tend to like imagining the final result first and then processing my ideas deep into my brain. Eventually, I apply sometimes even radical changes during work progress. The common thread of my current works is the search for a form of hyper-realism in which the mechanical reproduction of reality and matter is mediated by the lightness of thought.

Odysseia

“Odysseia” acrylic on canvas, 70 x 60 cm

I use mainly acrylics, oil and mixed media on canvas or wood board.
