BELLA

“BELLA” Acrylic on Canvas, 30″ x 40″ x 1.5″

I come from a long line of talented artistic women. My mother was a painter and my grandmother a dancer. Even my father played piano and sang opera.

Gemini Girl with Moon

“Gemini Girl with Moon” Acrylic on Canvas, 40″ x 30″ x 1.5″

My professional art career started in my first year of college when a major clothing manufacture in Los Angeles hired me as a junior textile designer and soon had me heading the art department. Four years later I launched out on a freelance career and never looked back.

Green Roses Girl

“Green Roses Girl” Acrylic on Canvas, 48″ x 48″ x 1.5″

In my current series of paintings I call MODERN MOODS; I deconstruct and then reconstruct my subject matter. I pull out the essence of shape and form and rid the subject of inexpressive line and shadow.

Turban Girl

“Turban Girl” Acrylic on Canvas, 36″ x 36″ x 1.5″

I use color that fits the feeling and personality of what I’m painting. I strip away the non-essential and am left with the simple mood of each subject.

Moon Feathers

Many of my pieces have an accompanying piece that brings in a pattern that compliments its partner. Each may remain separate and appealing so they can stand on their own or they may hang well together. This is my surface design experience coming into play.

Orchid Girl

I have been in the professional business of art for over 30 years but I have always known art was my calling since I was knee-high to Toulouse Lautrec; however, over the years, I’ve always worked for others, painting and creating according to their agenda. I have both public and private art installed in several Town centers from Tahiti to Santa Barbara, California, and permanent installations in many hospitals, shopping centers, businesses and private residences across the United States.

Breezy Dog Day

“Breezy Dog Day” Acrylic on Canvas, 60″ x 48″ x 1.5″

I also have extensive experience as a professional surface and textile designer and taught my craft to many College students and professionals at Otis College of Art and Design. I finally reached a crossroad and decided that was then and this is now.

I am grateful for the years of learning countless techniques and styles of art by painting for others. Life, however, is too short to not do the thing you love. Now I am only painting what I want to paint. I can only hope to do just THAT for years to come!
