My artwork is a visual expression of life, much of which comes from my own personal experiences which are very universal. I enjoy working with the alchemy of sculpture and the ability to turn one thing into another, expressing myself through symbolism and the phenomena of nature.

The life force of nature is always turning one thing into another and contains many phases. Myths often tell stories of these phases and are relevant throughout the ages. Keeping this in mind, I enjoy creating the alchemy of nature, myths and its magic.

The phases of my own life is filled with struggle, success, loss and rebuilding. Mankind has been telling these stories forever, and I am just another storyteller. My stories are told in a variety of mediums such as bronze, clay, stone, wood, paint, charcoal, pencil, pastel, resin, etc.

It has been therapeutic and at the same time humbling to create and reflect in these mediums. It has allowed me to see where I have been and to evaluate where I think I am heading.

As with most journeys, my life’s journey is filled with many twist and turns. I believe my artwork has and is a journey. It takes me to into my own inner darkness to the blinding light of my truth.

One of my sculptures that expresses this is “Releasing the Veil”. It is the story and expression of uncertainty, which happens when we let go of the prison of what is safe and known in search of our own truth. I believe many great adventures in life start like this.
