The Arts Business Institute and the Creative Arts Society announce the Austin Art Business Summit, a professional development program taking place on October 21-22, 2017. This event will kick off with an evening reception at Soma Vida in downtown Austin, where a keynote speech by Michael Abedin, editor of Austin All Natural Magazine will be given to welcome attendees. This is a perfect networking opportunity; light refreshments will be served.

This weekend summit will consist of eight presentations on topics of interest to artists and makers. The program schedule includes:

  • Pricing for Profit
  • Wholesale 101
  • The Corporate Art Market
  • Making Work That Sells
  • Introduction to Art Licensing
  • Sales Strategies for Artists
  • How to Sell Your Art Online

In addition, a talk on “What You Need to Know About Fine Art Printing” will be given on Saturday, October 21st during the lunch hour by guest speaker Neil Ganucheau, CEO of Skyline Art Printing in Austin. Sunday’s lunch hour will feature a guest expert panel discussion. Lunch will be provided each day to all attendees.

Other speakers for the event are Wendy Rosen, founder of the Arts Business Institute, publisher of NICHE Magazine, and founder of Best in American Made, as well as Carolyn Edlund, Executive Director of the Arts Business Institute and founder of Artsy Shark. Each talk is interactive, with open Q&A from the audience.
