I am a sculptor. I am consistently inspired by the natural world, its objects, beings, motions, and cycles.

The energy and unremitting sanity of “wild things” makes sense of this world. I am constantly drawn to the female figure, turning to the world of women and their environments, either real or surreal.

Currently I am working on a body of work loosely defined as “Wild Things” populated with sirens, Boschlike half-human, half-animal forms, primitive beings completely out of touch with our current reality. My forms celebrate sensuality, myth, secrets, imagination, and mystery.

My studio, the Stone Cocoon, is nestled in the bucolic setting of a 19th century New England mill. It is a timeless space built along a small river. It houses an artist colony which has become my workplace and home.

Using the same worn mallet for close to 20 years, I employ simple chisels to investigate the forms inherent in my latest stone boulder. The shapes shift and change as the marble, alabaster, or limestone gives way to my creative process.

Without a strongly defined design in mind, I explore the possibilities each stone offers. This year, I hope to find a meaningful gallery connection. I am primarily a museum exhibitor but look forward to the relationship and vision a strong gallery has to offer.
