As a child, I had a wild imagination which helped spark my creativity. I would scour my mother’s jewelry box and put on as much jewelry as I could, with bracelets stacked up my arms! I’ve always loved glamour. I liked to feel glamorous in my early years.

Throughout my life I became a jewelry collector, or “hoarder” some might say. I fell in love with handcrafted jewelry. Then, one day I said to myself, “Why don’t I try to make some jewelry?” I went to a crafts store, bought a jewelry magazine, some supplies and gave it a try.

That was seventeen years ago. Driven by my passion for jewelry, I began teaching myself how to make my own pieces and became a jewelry artist.

I work in traditional metalsmithing techniques such as soldering, stone setting, riveting, fold-forming, and wire wrapping. The typical tools that I use are various files, hammers, jeweler’s saw, flex shaft, torches, punches, to name a few.

I may incorporate different techniques into various pieces of my work. In general, I work in sterling silver with added details of copper, brass, or bronze accents. I use natural gemstones in my work.

I love choosing gemstones and creating interesting frames around them. My work can be categorized as rustic, organic or ethnically inspired. I find my inspiration in nature, colors, fashion, stage, and show. I tend to lean towards southwestern style creations, as my fondness for the southwest resonates with my heart.

My work has been featured in Step by Step Wire magazine. Currently my work can be found at the Dunedin Fine Art Center Gallery in Dunedin, Florida. I also do live art shows in the west coast Florida area.

I believe that women through the ages of time have always adorned themselves with beautiful things. You are not fully dressed without jewelry! Jewelry enhances the wearer. It makes you feel good. Jewelry is soothing. That’s why I create.
