Art has always been my way of capturing the beauty I experience in nature. As someone deeply passionate about the outdoors, I connect with nature through hiking, biking, and taking photos. I find myself drawn to the sights and sounds of plants, insects, and animals. These elements often find their way into my paintings.

I discovered my love for art at a young age, taking art classes in school and private lessons. In high school, I was introduced to surrealism. I was immediately captivated by how it seemed to transport the dreamworld onto the canvas—creating a space where anything was possible. To this day, surrealism continues to influence my work, often adding layers of imagination and mystery.

Though I’ve been an art lover since childhood, I initially pursued a degree in graphic design as a practical means to make a living, painting on the side whenever I could. In 2007, I found an old, historic flour mill that was turned into gallery and studio spaces. I secretly longed to take classes there. But the classes were held during the day when I was at work.

Thirteen years later, in 2020, I left the corporate world behind to fully embrace my passion for painting, giving myself the freedom to explore and express my thoughts and emotions more deeply. I finally started taking classes at that very flour mill. With its old timber beams and stone walls, growing pool of art classes, and wonderfully creative people, it is a source of constant inspiration.

“Georgia’s Mornings” acrylic on canvas, 16″ x 20″

In 2023, I was fortunate enough to start renting a studio space there, fulfilling a dream I’ve had for as long as I can remember. Being surrounded by other artists and having my own space to create has been incredibly motivating. I love the energy it brings to my life.

Through my art, I aim to foster a deeper connection with the moods, animals, and scenes that inspire me. I’m passionate about exploring a variety of mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, and oil. I initially gravitated toward oil paints for their ability to create smooth transitions and vibrant colors. Over time, I transitioned to acrylics, drawn to their versatility in building layers and creating textures.

I am constantly refining my craft, experimenting with new techniques and brushstrokes. I see my art as a dynamic, ongoing evolution—always growing, shifting, and adapting over time.
