I have been creating pictures since I was first able to hold something in my hand that allowed me to draw. The types of images which have most captured my imagination are those of beauty and mythology. Who is not attracted to beautiful images?

Personally, I find myself drawn to images with a narrative that expresses a variety of human values. When I was young, I found myself captivated by the stories told in comic books, pulp novels and mythology.

Here I found the heroic, the tragic, valor and betrayal, light and dark. In many cases, these stories were illustrated by talented artists. I found great beauty in their work.

It made me realize, however, the necessity of continually improving my craft and taking a more dedicated approach in the design and rendering of the ideas that came to me in the mind’s eye. In my education, I saw the evolving trail of artistic creation dating back to antiquity. It was my desire to help extend it as those before me had done.

Over the years, I have explored various mediums attempting to find those that were best suited to my own self-expression. The greatest artistic pleasure I discovered was in the challenges presented by oil paints, with the simple pencil continuing to contribute to the foundation of all my work.

Much satisfaction came in the realization that these were the most popular tools used by many of the artists I had come to admire going back centuries.

Every day I seek to build upon the understanding of these tools while attempting to master their potential, along with my own, as an artist. This road of artistic creation is endless, and I will never tire in attempting to contribute my part in its form and construction.
