For more than five decades, creativity has been at the center of my life and work. My journey has taken me from illustrator and creative director to pastor, teacher, and ultimately full-time fine artist. Along the way, I have come to believe that great art does more than decorate a wall—it tells a story, preserves a memory, and invites viewers to see the world through a deeper lens.

 

 

As a contemporary narrative artist, I am drawn to subjects that carry meaning beyond the surface. Whether painting Olympic athletes, coastal landscapes, wildlife, equestrian scenes, biblical themes, or personal commissions, my goal is always the same: to create visual stories that resonate emotionally and linger in the hearts of viewers long after they leave the gallery.

 

 

My artistic inspiration comes from many sources. Nature continually reveals beauty, order, and wonder. History offers powerful stories of courage, perseverance, and triumph. Faith provides a framework for understanding purpose, hope, and the human experience. These influences often intersect in my work, creating paintings that are both representational and symbolic.

 

 

My process begins with research and observation. I gather photographs, sketches, written notes, and historical context before developing a composition. Working primarily in acrylic, collage elemnts and a variety of substrates, I build layers of color, texture, and light to create paintings that feel both representational and expressive.

 

 

While technical accuracy is important, I am equally interested in capturing atmosphere, movement, and emotion. I often simplify, exaggerate, or rearrange elements within a composition to strengthen the story being told.

 

 

Throughout my career I have received more than one hundred national and international creative awards, including recognition from the American Sport Art Museum and the United States Sports Academy. My work has been collected by corporations, institutions, and private collectors across the country.

 

 

Today, my goals extend beyond creating individual paintings. I am increasingly interested in projects that combine visual art with education, inspiration, and community engagement. Whether through exhibitions, teaching, collaborative projects, or faith-based initiatives, I hope to create work that encourages people to pause, reflect, and reconnect with stories that matter.

 

 

Ultimately, I want my paintings to serve as reminders that beauty, resilience, faith, and hope are all around us—and that every life contains a story worth telling.
