“Courage” Ceramic oval disk, slate, red dog, beads & mica rock, 9″ x 9″
I create mixed-media mosaics that reflect my deep love for nature and explore the full spectrum of being human.

“I Was In the River, Now I’m Watching the River” ceramic, beach rocks, smalti, acorns, 11″ x 14″
Each mosaic begins long before I’m in the studio. My process starts outside, foraging for natural treasures like slate, mica, driftwood, shells, and stone. I’m drawn to what’s weathered or broken. Objects that carry history, texture, and meaning.

“Creativity” slate, stained glass, foraged pebbles, 9″ x 9″
Alongside these earthy elements, I use broken handmade ceramics and precious materials like smalti, a handmade glass that adds vibrant color and light. I’m fascinated by how these richly textured materials—both humble and refined—can come together to tell a story.

“Coming Home” foraged rocks, pearls, shale, slate, filati (hand-pulled glass rods), polymer clay, 14.5” x 11.5”
Foraging is a meditative practice for me, a way to slow down and connect with the rhythms of the natural world. It brings me into presence and reminds me of the beauty and fragility all around us.

My mosaics are a reflection of that connection. They’re also a way for me to explore themes close to my heart: love, justice, courage, gratitude, healing, mindfulness, presence, and rebirth/transformation. Each piece is a message from my soul—an offering to the world, meant to ground, inspire, and invite reflection.

“Bring Forth What’s Hidden Within” stone, filati, 24K gold covered smalti, stained glass, bark, 11″ 11″
I intentionally build a lot of texture and movement into my work. Mosaic artists call this andamento—the flow created by how each piece is placed. I love how it draws the eye and encourages viewers to slow down and really look.

At first glance, people may notice color and pattern, but the longer they stay, the more they begin to see the layers—both literal and emotional.

“Radiant Calm” sand dollar, tiny beach treasures, iridescent glass, slate, 9.5″ x 9.5″
Art-making has carried me through some of the hardest moments in my life. It’s how I process what I’m feeling, transform it, and offer it back to the world in a way that’s both personal and universal. I hope my mosaics give people a moment of stillness, a sense of wonder, and a deeper connection to the earth—and to themselves.
