“Lemurs-Madagascar’s Amber Glance” oil, 9″ x 12″
I am an Ohio based artist located on the south shore of Lake Erie. I paint because I have to. Each day I awake with the urge to paint something, to create something, to be an artist and work with the tools of an artist. I cannot escape nor explain the force that drives my creativity.

“Blue and Gold Macaw (Jungle Twilight)” oil, 11″ x 14″
Subject matter, composition, color, line, temperature and mood all come together in representing subject matter that inspires me. Realism has captured the essence of me and drives the style that I love to paint in.

“Edge of the Plains” oil, 16″ x 20″
Oils and sometimes acrylics are my usual mediums. I have and continue to work in pastels—those beautiful pigments without binders, a fascinating medium. However, oil is my main vehicle of expression.

“Winter’s Silent Passage” oil, 12″ x 16″
The subject matter I am happy to share consists of wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, still life and a lot of nostalgic images. My love of nature and wildlife in its natural landscape grew from a very young age where I would explore the forest areas of the Black River and its tributaries, observing the resident wildlife in all seasons.

“Wolf Valley” oil, 11″ x 14″
This experience has given me an endless amount of creative substance to draw upon. Still life subjects enable me to create nostalgic items that tug at the heart of emotion.

“Essence of the Toucan” oil, 11″ x 14″
My art development is varied, some formal and a lot self-taught. Art course work at Bowling Green State University, training in private art schools, and attendance at many wildlife seminars all contributed to my growth.

“Black Leopard-Eyes of the Jungle” oil, 11″ x 14″
Plein air sessions and personal observation of wildlife from the Beartooth mountains in Montana to the bird sanctuaries of Cape May, New Jersey, all contributed to how and what I paint today.

“Alpine Chalet” oil, 11″ x 14″
My work hangs on the walls of collectors and has been featured in galleries and exhibitions.
