I am 35 years old and from Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Most of my young life I have made some sort of art and had varying levels of interest in art.

“Untitled III” Mixed Media on Canvas, 73” x 54”
About eight years ago was when the door to my then dormant creative mind was essentially blown wide open. The moment was simple. A loved one noticed my doodling, liked it and challenged me to become an artist.

Since then, I have pushed my limits everyday to explore, create and learn. My current thoughts regarding an artist’s responsibility are for the artist to create as freely as his mind allows, giving the viewer a respite from their daily burdens.

My technique is to start and finish a thought on canvas with no specific prep work on any given piece.

“The Beginning is Near” Mixed Media on Canvas, 55” x 45”
Each piece is like a musical arrangement of sorts where the canvas, time of day, temperature, my temperament, the paint and the brush all play off each other to create harmony.

“Spring Fling” Mixed Media on Canvas, 58” x 26.5”
This freedom gives each piece the energy it needs to draw the viewer in. Once in, the viewer is now free from having to explain, or justify, or think ahead.
