I am a self-taught artist who intuitively creates mixed-media abstract art. Originally from Germany, I lived in Canada for over 30 years before relocating to Fano, Italy. My artwork reflects my life, marked by painful, melancholic memories as well as many joyous experiences. It serves as a testament to living open-heartedly in a world that colors our stories with shades of joy and heartache.

 

 

Characterized by vibrant colors, bold brushwork, and dynamic marks, my art represents my personal experiences. Every brushstroke and layer is a testament to my deep-seated belief in the healing power of art. The layers in my art mirror life—evidence of what happened, what we did, and what was done to us. Revisiting these deep, almost forgotten layers, and accepting them for what they are and what they meant, has shaped me and made me who I am today.

 

 

From the quiet corners of my studio, my art takes shape. It is rooted in a deep sense of integrity and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. For me, these values are woven intricately into the fabric of my life and art business. They are the guiding stars that steer my creative process and shape my interactions with the world.

 

 

Resilience and personal growth are my constant companions. They give me the courage to explore uncharted territories within my art and to persevere when life feels unbearable. Embracing courage has and will always be the driving force behind my passion. It is through humility and vulnerability that I seek to infuse truth and relatability within my creations, resonating within the depths of the human soul.

 

 

I believe art speaks to the soul, sometimes as a soft whisper, other times as a loud roar. It opens an internal dialogue and mirrors my emotions of the moment. I begin with a word, a sentence, a fragment of a poem, a thought, or an emotion. From the first marks made with absolute freedom and curiosity, new perspectives unfold on the canvas.

 

 

Each painting takes shape by adding many layers of paint and texture. It is that constant adding and taking away that allows the story to slowly emerge. The mystery of scraping and sanding to reveal underlying layers, along with the lines and marks that come by surprise, intrigues me the most.

 

 

For me, creating art feels like a continuous dance. Each moment has significance and may lead to a change in direction, allowing new ideas and creative impulses to emerge. Embracing the unpredictable while never abandoning my intuition creates a soul-to-soul dialogue between you, me, and the vulnerability of the human experience.

 

 

When you bring my art into your space, my hope is to evoke an emotional response or a memory, leaving room for your imagination and interpretation. Each piece is a testament to bravery, growth, and vulnerability, designed to resonate deeply with you.
