I grew up a “Crayola kid,” captivated by the magic and emotional power of color. Colors have been the primary tools of my life’s work. Through painting I have the freedom to express my hopes, feelings, and my ideas. The joy of color is my luck and my gift.

My work is driven by a desire to explore the deeper dimensions of existence and to reveal beauty as it unfolds through shared human experience. I strive to create through a universal visual language—one that speaks beyond words and connects through the senses, memory, and imagination.

Never confined to a single theme or style, my work spans several genres. These include landscape, figurative, abstraction, and still life. Each body of work offers a different way to investigate where we are, who we are, and the possibilities within our existence. My Journey Series seeks to unify the physical and non-physical aspects of life, creating visual windows into the layered realities of sentient experience and the interconnectedness of the soul.

Another significant body of work is my Begging Bowl Series, which emerged from a profound teaching I first encountered in 1987. “Come to the divine with a bowl, an empty bowl, a beggar’s bowl.”

Since hearing those words, I have received more than one hundred inspired images through dreams, meditation, and moments of reverie. These works explore receptivity, surrender, and the mysterious partnership between the known and unknown forces that shape our lives. They reflect both the physical body and the deeper dimensions of being.

Scale is an important part of my creative process. I prefer to work on large canvases. They allow for greater freedom of gesture, movement, and expression through color.

Each painting begins with a red underpainting, establishing warmth beneath the surface and counterbalancing the predominantly blue and green world around us.

My process is highly layered and intuitive. It often requires several months of paint application and refinement to achieve a sense of compositional harmony, color balance, and aliveness within the work.
