Born and brought up in a rural  environment throbbing with rich flora and fauna and people of vivid cultures, and a later migration to urban living at Hyderabad, have left mixed trends in my artistic journey from traditional to semi-abstract. In the process, my connections with several artists and art connoisseurs over the period influenced my outlook and brought about several refinements in my artistic style and treatment.

Although I have not evolved a particular style in the gamut of my own artworks, I give each composition a new dimension in its content and color, according to environment.

My paintings are semi-realistic representations of all that surrounds us, be it people, places or events. Hence, it is easier for the viewer to identify himself or herself with what they are viewing when they come to terms with the images.

I try to make my works captivating through creating stunning and forceful images shimmering with life. I want my paintings to speak out their innermost depth, conveying the message of energy and hope.

I earned three higher grade exams in freehand drawing, oil color painting, and interior design in the field of fine arts, as well as a host of  higher academic degrees and diplomas. I started my painting career creating artworks in various media and materials on vivid themes of religious, social and technological themes—Village Culture and Customs, Colors of Life, Horses in Action, Bracing the Bull Runs, Leaning Rocks, Curved Roads, Adorable Ganeshas, Devotional Krishnas and Pulsing Nature & Environment—all inspired by the mystifying relationships shared in the environment.

My series on technological transformation through information communication technologies such as internet, cell phones, iPads, sensors and computers is the latest fad. Faster communication pervades the urban and rural sector and makes the universe a global village. I have depicted the theme through a series of paintings about the effect of technological transformation in the lives of rural and urban milieu.

In my opinion, painting is an evocative expression of the inner vision influenced by the environment. My figurative work is based on my observations of people, places involved in day-to-day activities around me. I create an emotional attachment with not only the viewer, but also between the people depicted in my artwork. Finally, I paint what I visualize and experience.

Really interesting work, Valluri. I especially like “Farmer.” The patterns remind me of circuit boards, which makes sense with your themes of technology intersecting with rural life. Love the colors, too!

  2. Thank you Ms.Karen Joslin, I very much appreciate your nice comment on my paintings.
