I started in photography thirteen years ago when my daughter was born. I wanted to document her life and found that our camera that we rarely used needed an upgrade. My husband bought me my first DSLR and I began to take more photos of our daughter and of the different things we would do with her.
After our son was born, I really felt the urge to branch out and take more photos, not just of children. I convinced a friend to go on a workshop with me to the Outer Banks, and I was hooked!
This was the stepping stone that led me to where I am today as a photographer. I absolutely love being outdoors and capturing stunning vistas and wildlife. I enjoy traveling and always am looking to capture the beauty around me.
I live full-time in Sarasota, Florida, but have a second home in Driggs, Idaho. About six years ago, we took a family vacation to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
It was then that I fell in love with the Tetons! I absolutely love being out west and feel the pull of the mountains if I go too long without visiting.
This began a desire to visit more National Parks. It’s unbelievable how different and stunningly beautiful each park is.
I am fascinated by abandoned buildings, especially barns, and am always on the hunt for them whenever I am traveling. I love to find old, forgotten places and explore what’s been left behind.
Everything has a story, and the structures make me wonder who they housed and why the inhabitants left it abandoned.
I’ve learned over time that visiting places as a photographer has taught me to realize that there is always beauty around us if you take the time to look closely enough.
I love capturing the moment and being able to share it through my photos.
