The signature component of my designs is my bead quilled work.

I am a scientist and an artist. Though these two professions may seem disparate, I’ve created a harmony between them through the medium of silver crochet, which helped me to find my niche as a scientific artist.

Raasch designs and crafts her jewelry using unremarkable scraps of corrugated cardboard, green packing material, hand-made paper, hand felted paper, papier mache, cement, bits of wire and renders them into unexpected creative wear.

For my young daughter to see a healthy, creative and empowered relationship with work (which unfortunately is mostly the exception when I look around) might be my greatest legacy.
