“Drum Beat” acrylic on canvas, 60″ x 48″

I was fortunate enough to have worked in technology and finance at the birth of a new industry called municipal bond insurance. It was a fun, exhilarating experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We worked hard. I was thankful to have received worldwide acclaim for my accomplishments, as I was one of the first women in the boardroom of a major financial organization as CFO.

“Red Power” acrylic on canvas, 36″ x 36″

As great as this was, I never forgot my love of putting brush to canvas and creating what I feel are living, breathing environments that give other people joy.

“Joy” acrylic on canvas, 48″ x 36″

In my corporate life, my world was keeping investors happy. Now, I have transferred this passion to keeping the people who see my art happy, inspired and hopefully touched. My goal is to create dynamic paintings with a sense of mystery that generate an emotional response from my audience.

“Sunlight Dance” acrylic on canvas, 48″ x 48″

My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature. Colorful flowers and reflective patterns of light form the basis of my paintings. While flowers are my first love, I also paint abstract landscapes. I use photography, observation and memory as my source material, and don’t try to copy scenes that inspire me. It is a starting point. My process tends to be intuitive and creative.

“Just Back” acrylic on canvas, 60″ x 48″

I am very free and expressive with my brushstrokes and composition. Painting spontaneously, I incorporate my knowledge of design and color. I weave nature-inspired shapes with colors I am feeling, in order to create my own personal vision.

“Dynamic” acrylic on canvas, 36″ x 36″

Since my emotions govern my creations, each piece of art I create is unique. My love of beauty and color results in a transference of positive energy to my paintings.

“Fresh Cut Roses” acrylic on canvas, 36″ x 36″

I paint in acrylics, inks and oils on canvas, aluminum and paper. I love experimenting with new substrates. Painting on aluminum allows the paint to be moved around in ways not possible on more traditional surfaces. My works on aluminum done in ink and oil tend to be very smooth. When I want to produce textured paintings, I use acrylic paint, which is especially suited to my spontaneous process. It is a quick drying medium that allows for the rapid build-up of many layers and textures.

“Colorful Motion” acrylic on canvas, 16″ x 20″

I am on an artistic journey, always pushing the boundaries into unknown territories. I emphasize abstraction in my more recent works and am thrilled when my intended outcomes develop into unplanned random surprises.

“White Reflection” acrylic on canvas, 30″ x 30″

Born in London, my Persian heritage and extensive travels bring an international flavor to my work. This is especially reflected in my choices of bold colors. I began painting as a child,  and gradually developed as an artist through the years. While primarily self-taught, I have participated extensively with renowned artists at workshops in the United States, Italy and France. I have also studied at SUNY, the Art Students League of New York and The Silvermine Arts Center in Connecticut.
