“Aurora” acrylic, 20″ x 20″

My high school experience was not complete until I walked into the art room and found it was there that my world made sense.

“Stuck in the Middle” acrylic, 20″ x 20″

The mystery of colour, paint, lines and texture resonated with something deep inside of me and I finally felt I could communicate what I was feeling.

“I Have Spoken” acrylic, 20″ x 24″

Years later, after my kids were mostly grown and independent, I became aware of the deep need to express myself again—with paint. I started taking art classes through Chinook Learning. I was hooked. Immediately. This led to many more in-person and online courses as I fully embraced the opportunity to learn more about my passion.

“Pulchritudinous” acrylic, 20″ x 24″

I love, love colour, vibrant and dramatic colour!

“Between the Lines” acrylic, 20″ x 24″

From my perspective, it is one of the best qualities of my work. I have chosen acrylic as my preferred medium because I can work “fast and furiously” with it. Its quick drying time allows me to add layer upon layer as I paint a new conversation on canvas.

“Changing Perspective” acrylic, 24″ x 24″

As a fresh work comes to life under my brushes, I enjoy the excitement and anticipation it brings!

“Color Me Beautiful” acrylic, 20″ x 24″

Every painting is a journey of discovery. Whether I am capturing the light reflecting in our garden or conveying the elegance of a bloom, my aim is to communicate the emotion of the moment. I want the story I am telling to be as engaging to my audience as it is to me.

I have also enjoyed mentoring individuals and instructing small groups of budding artists. I have been thrilled to watch as they take courage to place paint on canvas!

“Sittin’ Pretty” acrylic, 20″ x 24″

My goal is to continue to develop my art as a loose and painterly expression of the world I encounter.

  2. Cosmas makunde says

Joyful flowing fluidity in capturing the definite and elusive transition of immediacy stretching beyond and within a blink. Seeing is barēly hazy but communicative. A marvel of an eye that sees.
