“Chandelier” digital, 30″ x 20″

As a child, when I drew outside the lines of my coloring books, it was because I wanted to. That rebellious act during my youth worked in my favor as an adult, because it taught me to take chances with my art rather than conforming to rules. Later, I pursued a mostly self-taught path, after taking jewelry, pottery and a single painting class at a local New Jersey art school.

“City Sensations” digital, 40″ x 30″

After many years of selling handmade jewelry, I discovered the world of digital art in 2001. I diligently worked at enhancing my skills to create organic work that looked painterly, rather than computerized.

“Good Day” digital, 30″ x 20″

Shortly thereafter, my digital art was chosen as a Macworld winner and my piece, “Trae” was exhibited at the renowned Jacob Javits Center in New York. My digital art process was later featured in the book, “Secrets of Award-Winning Digital Artists,” by Jeremy Sutton and Daryl Wise. My limited edition prints sold in galleries and other venues nationally, as well as to private collections.

“Spicy White 5″ digital, 40″ x 30”

At present I’m focused on abstract paintings. I create my artwork on an Apple iMac using Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. The Procreate app for iPad has been my latest fascination, and I’m now incorporating that into my art tool kit. Computer art software is incredibly sophisticated today.

“Invincible” digital, 30″ x 20″

I enjoy the way these programs allow me to express myself in ways that are similar to painting on canvas with acrylics.

“Urban Love” digital, 40″ x 30″

In addition to digital art and acrylic painting, I also experiment in other media such as collage, watercolor, mixed media, alcohol inks and illustration.

“Steaming Cup of Joe” digital, 30″ x 20″

I think exploring different tools and media keeps my work fresh and challenges me. It feels like play, yet this practice informs my work in exciting and unexpected ways. The element of surprise becomes the destination.

“Serendipity” digital, 30″ x 20″

I became transfixed by acrylic painting in 2013 and began alternating between painting digitally and on canvas, often focused on the use of vibrant colors. It was hard to limit myself! I found inspiration everywhere, in nature, architecture, humor, imagination, space and spirituality.

“Water Mood” digital, 40″ x 30″

My abstract painting process incorporates layers, marks, texture, scribbles and sometimes recognizable images such as geometric designs, hearts, flowers or birds. I hope to convey positive energy, healing and love through my work.
